What's automated trading?
Metacortex has implemented a system that waits for newsletters to broadcast their recommendations and quickly places the corresponding order in subscribers' brokerage accounts. Metacortex also tracks sell signals for existing positions.
The benefit for investors is that they don't have to be monitoring their email or fax machines for recommendations from investment newsletters they subscribe to; buy/sell orders get placed automatically in their own brokerage account.
Investment newsletter publishers also benefit, as they avoid the risk of losing subscribers who are unable to act on their recommendations on a timely basis. Some newsletters have dozens of recommendations active at once, or issue frequent recommendations, which can be overwhelming for busy individuals.
Finally, brokers benefit as well, as Metacortex brings high-quality clients that are already active investors. Since Metacortex does all the trading for them, these clients are unlikely to require much customer support from the broker.
